This is my first car dashcam. It’s a basic but valid solution to see if you’re interested in getting a higher-quality one. Installation was easy on a Renault Arkana. It records 3-minute files (about 500-600 MB, obviously without compressing them) and has an annoying issue: it frequently switches between the front and interior camera views during recording. I don’t know if it’s avoidable, but it does affect the final quality if you want to record the landscapes you pass by. From what I’ve read, it lacks voice commands to permanently save video segments you want to keep (like the ones immediately before or after an accident). The image quality is just okay; when cars are about three or four meters in front of you, you can read the license plate, but beyond that, it starts to get blurry. As I said, it’s a cheap option to see if you really want to have a dashcam in your car and to see how they work. If you’re convinced, you’ll probably want to upgrade to a more complete and expensive model soon.
